SOLIDAR Appeal: Support the People of Haiti in their Time of Need

SOLIDAR expresses its deepest empathy for the victims of the earthquake which hit Haiti on Tuesday 12 January. This earthquake comes after a number of catastrophes which is a disaster for a developing country - one of the poorest countries in the world - where more than 70% of the population lives under the poverty line. SOLIDAR also praises international efforts to bring humanitarian assistance rapidly to the country.

SOLIDAR invites you to send your donations in support of the situation in Haiti to the Haiti Emergency Support Fund set up by SOLIDAR. These funds will be used to support the actions of our members and partners providing assistance in the field.

Several SOLIDAR member organisations are active in the country and will be carrying out emergency relief projects to mitigate the effects of this terrible disaster. SOLIDAR members will use the funds to deliver much needed water, food, medicines, tents, blankets, hygiene kits, kits to clean up rubble, cooking utensils,…to the affected population.
